How Off-Site Optimization Can Help Your Website

Hello, friends of ShopVisible! Today has been quite hectic… One of my first e-mails was the SiteProNews Newsletter which featured the article "Why Bother With Linked-in or Facebook". This article resulted in four hours of joining social networks and creating pages. Why, you might ask? Well not only did I already have insight on off-site optimization from hanging around the individuals at ShopVisible, the article definitely gave me additional perspective on the importance!
Basically, the author, John Clark, realizes the importance of off-site factors. With off-site optimization, your natural search ranking is enhanced more than if you had solely used on-site optimization. Through sites such as Linked-in and Facebook, you can post links to your company website and list the company as your employer. This creates more search results and off-site links—which Google really likes! The optimization of your search rankings will ultimately increase traffic and hopefully sales as well.
Additionally, social networks provide credibility for your company. Linked-in’s feature of Recommendations not only creates more links, it highlights your skills and accomplishments. In our previous blogs you have read about customer generated information and how it positively influences shoppers. Connections on Linked-in will read your recommendations and eventually feel more comfortable about conducting business with you.
It’s a good thing ShopVisible understands this and ensures that affiliate tools, in-site search and channel management are easily accessible through the platform.  But if I still haven’t convinced you of the importance of off-site optimization, read the article for yourself!

Mobile Commerce, The Next Frontier

ShopVisible recently rolled out this great new SMS commerce feature. I briefly mentioned this in my last blog post. Well, I think it's about time that I explained how that works a little better…



The basics are simple: in the same manner you might send out email messages to your customers based on their buying habits, you can now send out text messages to inform them about product specials. But we have decided to take that one step further. Instead of forcing customers to travel to a PC to browse the web and purchase from your store, we can now create cell phone friendly stores that allow customers to make purchases directly from their phone. Just think of the possibilities—a customer sees a promotional text message on their phone and clicks the embedded link, which then takes them to an order page. They can immediately enter in their information and make the purchase right there, no matter where they are or what else they may be doing. The marketing potential here is incredible!



Mobile commerce is a wholly new field and ShopVisible has been striving to bring better and more robust features to all of its clients.

How to make your small business grow

I know I should have posted this sooner but it has been pretty busy around ShopVisible recently. Here is a great little article from nearly a month ago.  In the article, Mr. Fredric Paul discusses how small businesses are migrating their operations to the web and seeing growth even in a time when the economy in general is slowing down.

Mr. Paul credits the growth of small businesses on the web to improvement in web design and layout, more search friendly stores and email marketing campaigns. These improvements to online retailers have helped drive sales and improve the customer experience.

Here at ShopVisible we have been working hard on everything that Mr. Paul discusses but one of our newest features that we are incredibly proud of is the SMS marketing campaign. Now, instead of just relying on emails to update your customers, you can send out text messages! SMS advertising is one of the many new and exiting marketing solutions that ShopVisible provides.

E-retailers trying to suit online experience to buyers

How many e-commerce websites do you know on the net?

Probably too many to name, right? Well how do you set your e-commerce site apart from the others?

After all, if you can get customers talking to their friends about how great of an experience they had at your virtual store, they are likely to become both return customers as well as great PR. “E-retailers Trying to Suit Online Experience to Buyers” in The Seattle Times  talks about how some sites are striving for personalization to help separate them from the rest of the pack.
