Gearing Up For Retail's BIG Show

Our team is packing our bags for next week’s NRF Retail's BIG Show where we’ll mingle with the retail industry’s top companies from around the world.  ShopVisible will be showcasing our order management system (OMS) and distributing our brand new Order Management Playbook featuring high-level “plays” to help companies  understand whether they are prepared to meet the demands of today’s omnichannel customer.

As the one-stop-shop for retail industry professionals from all over the world, NRF serves as the gateway to share ideas, new technologies and emerging trends for all things retail. Now that the holiday shopping rush is behind us, NRF 2014 is sure to be a-chatter with the latest buying behaviors. As post-holiday data shows, customers are turning to eCommerce channels more frequently (especially mobile!) and placing larger orders than ever before. Additionally, as the industry buzzes about drones and other quick delivery methods, it is now more important than ever for retailers to ensure that orders are delivered on time, in place, and tracked efficiently.

At NRF, we’ll be discussing how real-time visibility and omnichannel-ready systems are absolutely essential for flexibility in meeting customer needs. Today’s shopper uses all channels available to them, even multiple ones for one purchase. They want to go online and quickly serve themselves, gleaning pricing, availability and delivery times. Based on that information, they’ll place their own orders and choose how they want to receive them, whether in store or shipped directly to them. Time and convenience are critical factors to their satisfaction.

Live from B2B Multichannel Summit

We’re thrilled to be at the B2B Multichannel Summit this week with some of the industry’s top B2B marketing and eCommerce companies.  In fact, ShopVisible is sponsoring this week’s event in Phoenix and our own Sean Cook chaired this morning’s general session and will be speaking about outsourcing sales to B2B customers tomorrow at 1:30 P.M.

A huge theme circulating around summit lectures is the focus on bringing the B2C-experience to business buyers, across all channels. This morning, Sean spoke about evolution of B2B eCommerce and the new business-to-end buyer engagement, or as he calls it - “B2X.”
When conducting online commerce to any kind of customer, the end goal is the same: to provide the end buyer with a great shopping experience.  It may sound like an easy concept, but meeting today’s customers’ high demands presents multiple challenges for businesses. A very real issue lies in the facilitation itself of enterprise-to-enterprise sales.



B2B companies, particularly manufacturers, are not accustomed to the self-service techniques their B2C counterparts thrive on (for example, the ability to set up a recurring order on your own on Amazon.com) and many have now been forced to interact with their customers for the first time. Even the simplest of upgrades, such as product reviews, can mean the difference in making the sale and more importantly, repeat sales.
